I found an article today that was pretty technical, but it had pages and pages of good information and several associated pictures as references to compare your own symptoms. If you don't mind wading through medical terminology, check out this site: http://louisville.edu/medschool/endocrinology/physician-resources/calendars/endo-presentations/MEC-Adipose%20Disorders-12-5-12.pdf

This blog is NOT ABOUT fad diets, liposuction, compression or surgery. I am not a doctor. The average doctors don't even know what lipidema is. So I will share what I've learned from experience and from decades of research to give hope to those who feel hopeless and see if we can cure the supposedly "incurable".

Lipidema : Am I making progress?
I feel like this sometimes. I eat right, I exercise when I can, I try to work up a sweat. Supplements....Herbs....Lab Tests.... But the weight just comes on faster than I can get it off.
If you have lipedema (lipidema, RADs, or other adipose tissue disorders), you'll know what I'm talking about.

Would You Be Seen Wearing a Swimsuit?
So........I live near the beach, and I'm a people watcher. Now that I know I have lipidema myself and how to generally spot it in others, I notice a lot of things when I look around at everyone in their beachwear. One person with an obviously exaggerated pear shape wears a full-length dress. Those around her pass around Oreos, and drink sodas and other beverages. She has water.
Another person who seems to show lipedema symptoms wears long pants and eats a pear while others in bikinis eat hot dogs and chips. I am too embarrassed to be seen in a swimsuit myself. It's just ironic that those paying the most attention to diet and nutrition are sometimes the least able to show it.

Inexpensive Compression Stocking Substitutes
I've noticed some of you struggling with compression garments of one sort or another. If I've read correctly, the average amount of time patients can stand to use those is 2 days. Very Expensive!!!! My lipedema is still in stage 1 or early 2, so I've used three substitute compression sock types that are cheap and

Compression Massage Chairs : Part 2
In this segment I will tell you what to look for in a robotic compression massage chair to get the most therapeutic benefit for the price and give my best recommendations so far. These are not cheap because they truly are therapeutic, and not just the common back cushion which does no good. Focusing on improved circulation, stimulation of organs and lymph systems, stretching of compressed joints and musculoskeletal imbalances, edema (lipedema, lymphedemia) reduction, foot/hand zoning and reflexology, these chairs are a modern miracle for many of us with these ailments (precautions required for pregnancy, tumors, etc.) Few of these advertized chairs are worth the money, and many are
