My lipidema problem absolutely accelerated when I got off birth control pills. I was trying to see if I would have a period if I didn't take them, and found that I wouldn't, so I stopped them altogether. Within 2 years I gained 55 uncontrollable pounds. My estrogen predominates over my progesterone levels, and I am using wild yam cream to try to re-balance. It has stopped the rapid weight gain, but I haven't lost any. Between menopause and birth control, I most definitely see a correlation between lipedema (lipidema) and hormone imbalance.

This blog is NOT ABOUT fad diets, liposuction, compression or surgery. I am not a doctor. The average doctors don't even know what lipidema is. So I will share what I've learned from experience and from decades of research to give hope to those who feel hopeless and see if we can cure the supposedly "incurable".
