Muscle Testing (Kinesiology) Answers for Lipidema (Lipedema)

Presentation ClipartIf you haven't studied kinesiology, or muscle response, and some very simple methods you can use to determine which of the foods you're eating are actually offensive to your digestive/immune systems, start learning.  Start testing your body's response to things you eat on a daily basis and you'll find lots of strange surprises.  Foods I would have sworn were "good for me" because someone else said so are, in fact, NOT!  And every day as I pass on these helpful tools, I find out how unique and individual each of us is.  As far as I can tell, there is no "one size fits all" solution for our nutrition and healing

What is the lymphatic system?--a simplified but helpful explanation

"The Lymphatic or “Lymph” System is commonly known as “the garbage disposal system” of the body. It is often referred to as the “second circulatory system” and flows throughout the entire body. The Lymphatic System is a complex network of lymphoid organs, lymph nodes, lymph ducts, lymphatic tissues, lymph capillaries and lymph vessels that produce and transport lymph fluid from tissues to the circulatory system. The Lymphatic System is a major part of the immune system. It is through the Lymphatic System that toxic substances move out of the body through the bloodstream.
When your Lymphatic System is blocked or clogged, this creates a condition of stagnation which promotes fatigue and ill health. Some of the common symptoms include lumps, bumps, pain and swelling.
Unlike the blood circulatory system, the Lymphatic System has no pump to keep fluid flowing. Some causes of a blocked lymph system are due in part to stress, lack of exercise, improper diet and repressed communication.

pH balance of lymph system versus coffee and soda--need to know

http://www.lymphatichealth.com/ph-balance-for-optimal-health/
I found this on the website of the Center for Lymphatic Health  "...it takes an incredible amount of good water to counteract the effects of soft drinks and coffee. Most carbonated soft drinks have a pH of about 3, making them about ten thousand times more acidic than pure water with a pH of 7."

Lymphatic System rebounder exercise--an article I'm passing on

taken from http://www.lymphatichealth.com/lymphatic-system-self-care/

"Exercise is essential to maintain proper flow of the lymphatic system. The lymph system has no pump and the flow depends on respiration and muscle contraction. A combination of deep breathing and stretching exercises is very beneficial to proper lymph flow. The perfect exercise for restoration and maintenance of the lymphatic system is a rebounder or personal trampoline.
When one does the lymphatic health bounce, the feet don’t leave the mat. By gently surging up and down for 2-3 minutes at a time stress and tension are relieved and lymphatic flow is enhanced. Utilization of the stabilizer bar allows everyone to sit or stand and “lymphacize” their entire system.
So, check your lymph nodes; if they are sore your lymph is blocked and you have created a breeding ground for disease. If the soreness is moderate use the self administered self care techniques."

Decongestant for the lymph nodes?

It seems to me that if our lymphatic system is all backed up and congested, there ought to be some kind of natural decongestant.  Wouldn't it be awesome if we could just unclog overnight--kind of like putting drain cleaner down a backed-up pipe and watching it dissolve all the garbage and WHOOSH flush clean.  What would it feel like to have all that fluid moving properly and unrestricted again?  I'd love to hear from anyone who has had success in this area.  I've been studying the conifer essential oils for this, but I'd love to hear what others are studying as well.

You can know immediately if a food is good for you personally or not.

If you want to know if your body will benefit from eating something, do this before putting it into your mouth:
1.  Stand upright in a balanced and easy stance.
2.  Breathe in deeply and normally through your nose, trying to completely fill your lungs, throat, sinuses.  Don't strain; just take a nice deep full breath.  Can you breathe freely the whole way up?  If so, let go of the breath and go to step 3.  If no, breathe out anyway and wait for another day when your breathing is clear.
3.  Hold the substance in your hands.  Bring your hands up against your mid-section just under your rib cage in the solar plexus area.  Hold the substance gently against yourself with loose hands.  Relax. Clear your mind and try to get rid of ANY opinion about the matter.  You must want to know TRUTH.
4.  Ask yourself something like "Is this good for me?"  or "Should I use this?" (a simple yes/no question).
5.  Try again to take a nice deep breath through your nose.  Don't strain.  Just breathe in naturally and normally.  Do you notice a change?  Does it feel like your breathing muscles shut down a bit?  Does it feel like your lungs don't want to fully inflate?  Can you only take in a partial breath?  If so, your body is not compatible with whatever it is you were holding.
Regardless of what any diet/nutrition/health book or article or show says, not everyone can or should eat the same things, and this is one way to isolate whatever is incompatible with you personally, regardless of how someone else responds to it.  It's kinesiology, or "muscle response" testing you can do anywhere, any time.
Try it on food.  Try it on toothpaste, vitamins, shampoo, laundry detergent, spices, beverages, fast foods.  You will find that much of what you are using for cleaners, supplements, food, hygiene, room fresheners, beverages, etc. works against you and actually depletes your muscle strength.  Avoid those substances.

Slow and Steady Progress

Presentation ClipartI've been working hard on my health.  When I began this discovery journey in May of 2013, I had insomnia every night from 1-3 a.m. accompanied by frequent hot flashes.  I couldn't remember when the last time was that I had slept through the night.  Wild Yam cream has helped tremendously with that, as did a drink mix called Venus Calm from Balanced Planets.  I started sleeping much better, hadsignificant improvement in my hot flashes/night sweats, and I've actually slept clear through the night once in awhile.  I'd say that was progress.  I'm working on saying "I'm cured", but it's a process.

What you can't digest should be minimized

Some dietary changes I've made lately have made a difference in how I feel.  After finding through muscle testing (kinesiology) that I was reacting badly to the entire nightshade family-which includes tomatoes, potatoes and all peppers--and to the cultures in cheese, I cut those out of my diet for a month.  Now my eye pupils can constrict again and hold it longer.  Before the dietary change, my adrenals were so exhausted that they couldn't constrict for more than 2 seconds.  After doing this for a few months, my ophthalmologist said my eyes were now constricting normally.  This is good progress.  I will only have those foods once in  a while and not in large servings.  What are you not digesting?  Try kinesiology to find out.

Read the Articles on Adrenal Fatigue by Dr. Lam!

O my goodness, o my goodness.  This website was REALLY helpful to me.  Check it out and see if some of the articles have as much good information and answers for you as they had for me and my friends.    Weight loss and adrenal fatigue parts 1 and 2.  It's great to see medical doctors using alternative medicine and integrated medicine to finally help us.

Dr. Lam's website on Weight Loss and Adrenal Fatigue--WOW!!!!

Every once in awhile you come across something that just makes you want to cry because someone finally actually understands what you're experiencing.   It was like that for me and others I know when we stumbled across Dr. Lam's site after reading a blog written by someone very like us.
Suddenly I was seeing myself and my situation as part of a larger community picture where answers are actually given.  I highly encourage anyone with lipedema (lipidema) or associated symptom groups to check out Dr. Lam's site  https://www.drlam.com  on adrenal fatigue syndrome.  Brilliant!

Foot/Leg Vibration Machines-----Ahh, YES!

Have you ever sat down and used a foot/leg vibrator machine?  I have and it feels SO GOOD.  It's GOT to be good for lymph movement--at least it felt like it to me.  A friend gave me an inexpensive version, but it still works well.  A few minutes on one of those and my legs feel WONDERFUL.  And for those of us with lipedema, that's saying something!

Lipid-ema or Lip-edema? or something else?

I have two blogs on the topic of my experiences with lipedema because the name makes sense with two spellings, one accenting the lipid retention + water, and the other accenting the water retention + lipids.  Both are correct descriptions.  Both are nicer descriptions than "heavy leg syndrome" or "painful fat syndrome", though those are both correct descriptions as well.  I could think of a few more, like "can't bend over the pad of fat in my gut" or "I can feel my legs swelling up" or "can't kneel because my legs are too tight" or "why is it so hard to put socks on" syndrome. There's "Oh, my gosh, did you realize you've swollen up like a balloon?!" syndrome, or "I've stopped looking at the bathroom scales".   I'm sure you've got descriptions of your own as well.

Adrenal and Thyroid Patterns--a link

I found this very helpful guide online at
http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-temperature-graph

PowerPoint AnimationIt shows the instability of core temperatures when the adrenals are fatigued and what temperatures should look like when there is proper thyroid support.  I found it to be a useful tool for me as I've been combatting my symptoms and trying to get to the root of the problem.

Lymph System skin brushing --citation from an article I read

taken from http://www.lymphatichealth.com/lymphatic-system-self-care/

Presentation Clipart "When looking at the Lymphatic System, most chronic problems occur at the junction of lymph vessels called “Lymph Nodes.” One can feel lymph nodes by pressing under the jaw, below the ear, below the collarbone, under the arm, or in the crease between the thigh and pelvic area. When touching these areas, many people will feel small bumps or lumps; some will feel pain. The bumps, lumps and pain are symptomatic of blocked lymph nodes.Since we are dealing with the primary drainage and immune

Manual Lymph Drainage? Too gentle for me

I know that a very soft and mild manual lymph drainage is recommended by most people writing about lipedema or lymphatic conditions.  For me, I don't get the benefit I need from  overly gentle massage, as my fat pockets are deep and would not be affected by only mild stimulation.  Am I the only one?  For those deep aches, I need deep massage.  Is there a technique out there that blends both? I read someone's blog that mentioned a technique but didn't name it in a way I could research.  I'm interested to hear what others have discovered.

A Piece in the Puzzle: Candida

This blog is being read in at least 90 countries.  Obviously this is a global issue which is getting more attention.  There are many of us uncomfortable with our lipedema symptom.  Yes, it's a symptom, solved in layers.
One thing that's helped me is addressing my candida infection.  When candida is under control, it is benign.  Raging, it demands to be fed sugar every 2 hours, then fills your body with toxins and fatigue.  If you have tea tree oil, try applying a drop of that on your palms and on the bottoms of your feet when you get up and when you go to bed.  See if it helps  curb those sugar cravings and clear up some mental fog.

Dr. Bradley Nelson's book The Emotion Code--Review

In May of 2014 I discovered a book, or process, called The Emotion Code by Bradley Nelson.  I would never have supposed how drastically that book has changed my way of thinking about my aches and pains, my lymphatic congestion or other lifelong pains.  Today I can say with complete confidence that emotional healing is easy, natural and vital to our health.  I incorporate Dr. Nelson's process with essential oils, cymatics and reflexology to enhance his procedures, and with that I'm making exciting progress.  Please watch his youtube videos.

88 Countries read Betty B. Ready's Blogs

I like the # 88.  When I was a little girl, I loved to shop at the Bonanza 88 store.  It was the prelude to our 99 cent and dollar stores.  Because of that, when I saw today that my 4 blogs are being read in 88 different countries, that became somewhat of a milestone for me.
There's so MUCH to discover.  I've been finding many intriguing pieces of the puzzle, and
