As promised, here's my weight loss tool. Try this!

OK, I promised to share the tool I have found that is helping me lose weight despite the doctors' prognosis that for me it would be impossible.  It's one of those things I'd never heard of, but now that I practice it daily and teach it to my family and to my customers at Be Ready Inc, I'm finding several people who also use it at work, at home, and among their associates.
It's simply this:  YOUR BODY WANTS TO HEAL, IT KNOWS WHAT IS GOOD FOR IT AND WHAT IS HARMING IT, even if it's foods you eat every day and love.  If we're not listening, or feeling the message, we can SEE it easily with this tool.  Once you know what you're eating that is keeping you from healing, you can eliminate those things for a month to give your system a rest.  Then try only having a small amount of those things maybe once a week if you truly love them, instead of every day, or eliminating them altogether.  So what's this simple, fun and amazing tool?  Try this:

The Body Knows : A Helpful Book I'd like to recommend

Garage sales again.  You're seeing a pattern here.  I go with a prayer in my heart that I can find what I need or that someone I know needs--sometimes I know specifically what I'm looking for, but sometimes I don't.  The past 3 times I've gone, I've come back with 2 more absolutely wonderful books on health, nutrition, herbs, essential oils, taking charge of our own health and alternative health options (apparently that's what I need).  The ordinary dull repetitive books I leave there, but the best come home with me.  And I've found another one.  It's called The Body Knows: How to tune in to your body and improve your health-- by Caroline M. Sutherland, published by Hay House.  I've been earmarking

What is lipidema (lipodema, lipoedema, lipedema) with a link to Tilly Schmidt's article

I took this information and these pictures from Tilly Schmidt's  article on Lipodema
"Lipoedema – and what you ought to know about it.
Here you will find out everything that you ought to know about lipoedema:
What is lipoedema?
What can I do about it?
How does it make its presence felt?
What are the most frequent symptoms?
What therapy methods are available?
What should the affected patient be aware of?

Frequent symptoms
Lipoedema leads secondarily to a chronic lymph blockage. The fat lobules and fat cells are anchored in the connective tissue where they are surrounded by very small lymphatic and blood vessels. An increase in the fat cells gradually results in the finest lymphatic vessels being pressed shut. In addition, oestrogens (female sex hormones) cause an increase in the storage of fluid in the connective tissue and a loosening of this tissue.
One side-effect of lipoedema is therefore a chronic lymph blockage in the dependent parts of the body and the storage of fluid in a very loose connective tissue. This explains the pains that regularly occur.

Research Links : What is Lipedema (lipidema) and what does it look like?

Here are some links to informative articles outlining what Lipedema (lipidema) is, what RADs, Dercums Disease and other similar disorders are and how to tell the difference--including photos.  These are written by Karen Herbst, a leader in the U.S. fight toward making these known to the medical field:

Lipedema and medium fatty acids (coconut oil)

I took the following helpful information from the National Lymphedema Network: "
In patients with lipedema, there is often an inability of the body to digest certain fats, in particular long chain fatty acids. Long chain fatty acids are absorbed by the lacteals (part of the lymphatic system) in the small intestine. Thus are absorbed into the lymphatic system. Once digested long chain fatty acids go on to be stored in adipose tissue to be used later. There is belief that medium fatty acids (MCT) in the diet can help to alleviate the problem. Medium chain fatty acids bypass the intestines and are absorbed by the liver. They are easily absorbed and unlike other fats, they

Calcium Supplements can cause Magnesium Deficiency

I've been wondering why I am magnesium deficient until I recently learned that when we take a specific synthetic vitamin, such as Vitamin C or Calcium instead of whole plant vitamins, we can actually deplete the other vitamins/minerals stored in our organs.  In order to process calcium, magnesium is required.  For those of us who have been taking calcium supplements faithfully through the years to stave off osteoporosis and other bone-related disorders, if we have not been

Comfortable clothes for Lipedema (Lipidema)

Gotta LOVE a good garage sale!  Unbelievably, I found wonderful stylish but comfortable clothes that totally suit my wider upper arms and lower legs when I went to a garage sale recently.  I got quite a selection, and they all fit so well I had to share the manufacturer's brand name with you, because they would fit so many of us with adipose tissue disorders.  It was Hot Cotton.  They're sold in several department stores, so maybe there's someone carrying them near you.  Comfy waist bands....wide legs....roomy arms.....cute......just what we need!

Lipedema Hormone Imbalance : Birth Control and Menopause

My lipidema problem absolutely accelerated when I got off birth control pills.  I was trying to see if I would have a period if I didn't take them, and found that I wouldn't, so I stopped them altogether.  Within 2 years I gained 55 uncontrollable pounds.  My estrogen predominates over my progesterone levels, and I am using wild yam cream to try to re-balance.  It has stopped the rapid weight gain, but I haven't lost any.  Between menopause and birth control, I most definitely see a correlation between lipedema  (lipidema) and hormone imbalance.

Lipidema (Lipedema), wild yam cream and insomnia

I'm awake at 3:00 a.m.--again--while everyone else is asleep.  For many years I've been awake between 1 and 4 a.m, when worry and anxiety would creep in.  I've started using wild yam cream for easing hormonal imbalance, and I've noticed that is has helped shorten the awake time and lessen the feelings of worry and anxiety.  Last week while I was out of town at a seminar, I forgot to bring my cream and I had sleepless nights.  When I got home and used the cream, I slept a bit better.  Tonight I'm fully awake again and realized that I neglected the cream for the past couple of days.  Noticing that pattern, I think I'm in a position to say that for me, wild yam cream does seem to have a positive effect on my ability to sleep and have more inner peace in the middle of the night.  I can't say that the hot flashes have significantly been affected.  I'm still hoping for relief from those.
